Chris began his role as Lead Pastor at Waypoint in September, 2015.  He had previously served as Youth Pastor since 2002.

Chris was born in Detroit, and has lived in Southeast Michigan for most of his life.  He is married to his incredible wife, Amy, and they have two amazing children – Melanie and Ryan. Chris loves Photography, Astronomy, travel and hanging out with his family.

Chris has a degree from the University of Michigan in Chemical Engineering and worked for Ford Motor Company/Visteon for 5 years.  He felt a call to full time ministry and transitioned from that role into youth ministry.  He began seminary work and graduated with a Masters of Divinity in 2009 from what is now Moody Theological Seminary – Michigan.  At graduation, he was awarded the faculty award for excellence in Expository Communication.

Chris has a passion for being involved in the community – schools, nonprofits, and networking with leaders in the region.  He and his wife Amy were recipients of an “Outstanding Service Award” in 2017 from Clarkston Community Schools for their volunteer work.

Chris has a heart for connecting with different cultures.  He’s been able to teach in Haiti, and has been a part of mission trips to Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Argentina and several places in Asia.
