General Information
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Status: Part-Time – 8-10 hours varies week to week and includes Sunday mornings, rehearsals, preparation, and special services
Primary Priorities
1. Spiritual Maturity – Maintain a healthy, growing walk with God and
encourage others in their relationship with Him.
2. Involvement with a Team – Work with our team of volunteers to
carry out the music in our services. Recruit, train, and empower
volunteers, including kids and teens, to participate in the worship
music ministry.
3. Congregational Engagement – Lead worship music in a way that
invites the entire church family to engage fully with God through
music.
Key Responsibilities
Spiritual & Worship Leadership
- Maintain a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ marked by humility and integrity.
- Model authentic worship both on and off the platform.
- Pray regularly for the worship ministry and church family.
- Plan and lead music for Sunday worship services in alignment with the church’s vision and sermon themes.
- Select music that is theologically sound and accessible for congregational participation.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, develop, and disciple worship volunteers, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and audio visual support.
- Create welcoming pathways for kids and teens to participate in worship ministry.
- Schedule teams and lead rehearsals that are organized, encouraging, and spiritually uplifting.
- Foster a healthy team culture through regular practices and special gatherings.
Administration & Collaboration
- Organize schedules and set lists using Planning Center.
- Collaborate with pastoral staff for united services.
- Participate in staff meetings and planning as needed.
Expected Qualifications
- A clear and growing personal faith in Jesus Christ.
- Capable to musically lead musicians and singers.
- Musical proficiency that nurtures confidence and engagement.
- Strong relational and leadership skills.
- Experience in recruiting and leading volunteers across age groups.
- Comfort working with children and teens.
- Organized, dependable, and able to plan ahead.
- Willingness to learn and use Planning Center to coordinate services.
- Expectation to become part of Waypoint Church, leading to
- membership.
