Nice county park in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, USA. Brief description: 106.7 acres with a basketball court, 4 softball fields, 2 soccer fields, a volleyball court, 2 horseshoe pits, 2 hopscotch courses, 1 indoor shelter and 1 outdoor shelter, a lake, walking trails and a playground. NOTE: Park closes at sunset, don't get locked in!

Ericsson staduim, 800 South Mint Street, Charlotte, NC 28202, phone 704-358-7407. Located at the intersection of Mint, Graham and Morehead Streets. This 73,367 seat, privately financed, open-air, natural-grass stadium includes training facilities, practice fields and administrative offices and serves as the headquarters for the Carolina Panthers. Sculpted by Todd Andrews, a pair of black panthers, each measuring eight-feet tall, weighing more than 2,000 pounds, perched on ten-foot pedestals and named Indomitable Spirit, guard both sides of each of the three 80-foot arched entrances.

"Symphony" Park in Charlotte
"symphony" Park, located at the intersection of Barclay Downs and Morrison Blvd in Charlotte, NC. Know mostly for its summer Charlotte Symphony series "Pops in the Park", this park has a reflecting pond, grassy hillsides, fountains as well as the very impressive bandshell. Very uncrowded during non-enent days, bring a picnic lunch and blanket on a spring or summer day and enjoy the scenery. Handicapped accessible (somewhat), but no facilities.

Pisgah Forest Fish Hatchery: Pisgah National Forest, NC
This is North Carolina's largest cold water fish hatchery. Here they raise Brook, Brown and Rainbow trout. This is also the hub for the forest hiking trails. There are over 400 miles of hiking trails in this area. If you are interested in geocaching there are several caches in this area. This is also home to the Pisgah Center for Wildlife Education.

High Balsam Shelter: Grandfather Mountain, NC
This shelter was lost in the late 60s for lack of interest and rediscovered in the 80s. It was rebuilt and is now maintained by the Grandfather Backcountry Rangers. This spot offers the best views of the Lynn Cove Viaduct, Blue Ridge Parkway, and Grandfather District of the Pisgah National Forest.
